I'm having issues with my nails.
Right now I want to get married, my nails are just about perfect.
I really don't want acrylic nails put on as I have nice nails and I don't want them damaged. The thing is that I know my nails may not stay that way getting closer to my wedding day. I would love to have my natural nails with a french manicure.
The nail lady I spoke to yesterday said that she needs to know 3-4 weeks in advance if I wanted acrylic or natural, I don't know that until that week .
I just don't know which way to go, it's very fustrating. |

I wonder why the lady needs to know so far in advance for?? that is frustrating! |

The lady said that it takes approx 1 hour for a manicure and 1.5 - 2 hours for acrylic. Which I can understand as she may need to book another appointment at that time, if I was to just have a manicure and she booked it in for 2 hours then there is 1 hour lost that she could have filled in.
My job also doesn't go with long nails either, as my hands are always in water or in some type of chemical which makes the nail fairly brittle, but for some unknown reason right now they are good. |

Nope deffinately not pg .
I think summer does wonders for my nails, but winter I haven't done anything out of the normal for them to be that way.
I think that i'm just parranoid that they will break the day before my wedding and I won't have nice nails. |

how frustrating!
I need to have really short nails too with massaging so hear you there!
Maybe just tell her acrylics to "play it safe" and if you change your mind later then alter it? _________________

A&J, As I didn't want false nails either for my wedding day, I had a gel coat over my own nail.
Gel is so much better than acrylic, as it is softer and more natural. Not hard and brittle like acrylic.
So, I would highly recommend getting gel on them and if you get the right one, with the coloured gels, they can do them clear then paint the french look on OR they can use the french gel colours. |

Unfortunatly where I am they don't do gel . It's acrylic or natural.
May be the day before the wedding a trip to Sydney to get gel nails done? |

You could try doing it yourself? Or look for another nail artist or even go up to newcastle?? Be cheaper than sydney, but somewhere on the coast would certainly do gel..
If I were speaking to my sister you'd be set, but that idea is out...
Anyway, I have done my own before using a kit that you can get from a chemist or priceline or the like. Really easy, just like painting them. |

| If you got the stuff and could come to sydney then I'd be happy to do them.. but would need to do them first a few weeks before so we could both be happy with result. |

My beautiful nails are no longer , I broke a few the other day so last night I cut the only two I had left that were nice, so that now they are all the same length.
I just hope that I can get my nails back to being nice and long before my wedding on the 21 April. |

| If you get the gel on them it will help a great deal in stopping them from breaking. This is why I had the gel on top on my nail. |
